The Problem Isn’t Your Body - It’s the Clothes
Fashion promises confidence.
But for too many women, it delivers the opposite.
As the founder of RERASA, a brand creating chic, effortless, size-inclusive clothing, I see the impact of this every day. Women who’ve spent years believing their bodies are the problem when in reality, the clothes were never made for them in the first place.
But here’s the truth:
The clothes were never made for them in the first place.
The industry largely still designs for a single “sample size”. Every other size is an afterthought. Patterns are scaled up or down without considering how a garment will actually sit on different bodies how it will drape over a fuller bust, move around wider hips, or accommodate real shoulders, real arms, real curves.
That’s not inclusiveness. That’s math.
How the Industry Gets It Wrong
Most fashion still starts with a single “sample size.” Every other size is treated as an afterthought patterns are simply scaled up or down, without considering how a garment will actually sit on different bodies:
-
How it drapes over a fuller bust
-
How it moves around wider hips
-
How it accommodates real shoulders, real arms, and real curves
That’s not inclusiveness. That’s math.
And it doesn’t stop there:
-
Many brands quietly upcharge for larger sizes, as if more fabric justifies a higher price forgetting that every size deserves equal value.
-
Plus-size ranges are often segregated into separate sections in stores or online, sending the message that these bodies don’t belong in the “main” fashion conversation.
-
The designs themselves are too often looser, less tailored, and stripped of the details found in smaller sizes as if style stops being relevant above a size L.
It doesn’t.
How We Do It Differently
At RERASA, we decided early on that we wouldn’t play by those rules. We design every piece to be reimagined across sizes. We don’t believe in simply adding inches; we refit, retest, and rework each garment on real women, across a spectrum of sizes, shapes, and proportions. It’s not just grading up, it’s an upgrade.
Because it’s not just about making something bigger it’s about making something better. A size XL should feel just as considered, flattering, and stylish as a size S.
And no, we don’t believe “flattering” has to mean “shrinking” or “hiding.” Our clothes are made to move with you to let you feel relaxed, styled, and seen. They’re cut for confidence, not compression. For you to enjoy as you are.
Our Quiet Revolution
At RERASA, we’re building something better. Where every piece is a quiet revolution.
-
One sample size is never enough — we test across many.
-
Every rack is for every body — no “separate” plus-size section.
-
Equal value for every size — no arbitrary upcharges.
Your body doesn’t need to change to feel beautiful.
The fashion does.
We’re not perfect. We’re still learning. But we’re designing with intention, empathy, and respect for all bodies, not just some.
